A Pair of Silk Stockings:
The image that stood out to me the most is when the lady first touched the pair of silk stockings. The way she described her reaction when the sales woman asked her if she would like to look at others, she said it was “She smiled, just as if she had been asked to inspect a tiara of diamonds with the ultimate view of purchasing it.” Something that would be a normal experience for us today was such a huge thing in her life that it made her lose control. The image of her reacting so strongly to a normal “luxury” that a lot of us today take for granted today reminded me of a part in the movie “A Little Princess” when the rich school girl Sara gave the schools servant girl a new pair of shoes, she looked and touched them like they were gold, when the rest of the school girls took everything that they had and weren’t working for, for granted.
Daystar:
The part in Daystar when she was imaging her daughter ask “And just what was mother doing out back with the field mice?” was like she was comparing herself to the field mice. It made me have an image of the mother wanting to be outside with the field mice, if that’s what she had to do to get away. She would go to that extent, almost a breaking point.
Why I Want a Wife:
Through the whole text, I got this negative vibe due to a woman putting down what she does with her life. But when I finally got an bold image that stood out to me is when I got to the part where she says, “I wand a wife who is sensitive to my sexual needs, a wife who makes love passionately and eagerly when I feel like it, a wife who makes sure that I am satisfied. And, of course, I want a wife who will not demand sexual attention when I am no in the mood for it.” This part of the text made me have an offal image of her as her husband’s sexual slave. I picture a dark room and her dark life that she must lead.

I loved that image in "A Pair of Silk Stockings". I agree with you that it was the "luxury" that made her lose control, but I also think it was the temptation of the fifteen dollars in her purse, too.
